Stunning antique 1880-90’s Carved German Lion and Cherub Open Well Grandfather Clock.

The hood is removable for access to the movement. The features a carved cherub at the crown. The middle section is open and graced by a set of barely twisted columns. The bottom section has carved lion figures at the corners and with a fancy carved front base panel. Set on raised feet. Overall case wood is dark stained hazelnut wood with veneer finish.

Dimensions in CM: 2.23H x .65W x .35D.

1 week running full brass clock movement that strikes on 1/2 and full hour. This features a sunburst pendulum and two twisted brass shelled weights. The weights are distressed. The movement is unsigned and the chime bracket is signed FMS for Friedrich Mauthe Schwenningen. Schwenningen is located in the heart of German Black Forrest clock industry.
